Tips for buying best professional baseball gloves

By thebaseballstore.net added on Thu, 15 Jan 2009

Having a professional baseball glove is essential as it is considered to be an extension to your hand. In professional baseball different gloves are meant for different positions and you must really know your position before purchasing it. If you're playing in multiple positions it's better to get more gloves. A good professional glove should easily fit around your hand and you must feel comfortable in it. Always try the glove first before purchasing and avoid purchasing on-line as you will not be able to get the trial.

Well, there are many good companies that offer good professional baseball gloves. Rawlings, Nokono, Nike, and Mizuno, are the few ones that I would specially like to mention here. So, if you really want to be professional and if interested in comfort and safety measure just get the best gloves for you. I don't mean to say that the only expensive ones are the good ones but you must be relaxed in those. Generally baseball gloves are not more than 12 inch in size and buying a jumbo glove can bring inconsistency in your game.

One more thing to think is about the class of glove. They come in variety of resources and one has the choice of choosing from synthetic, leather, and treated leather. In most cases the new glove will feel a little hard to start with, but applying leather conditioning oils will definitely soften the leather. You can straight away oil the glove and then start to break in by practicing with it. Once broke in the gloves will be comfortable for you and you will never be uneasy on the field.

Now, if you're a catcher you must pick the catchers glove that provides extra fillings, if you're the first baseman you must go for first base gloves that are designed specifically to dig balls out of the dirt and have a dip pocket to catch the ball. The second basemen need to get smaller gloves with small pockets while the third basemen should get a little larger one than the middle infielders. The outfielder gloves are the important ones as they need to cover the major portion of the ground and also need to catch fly balls that are hit firmly. Pitcher gloves are big ones as they need to hide and catch any firm drives coming their way.

Hope, you got these tips right regarding purchasing the best baseball gloves. Just take few precautions and the gloves are going to serve you for many years and who knows you may create new records by using them!
