By thebaseballstore.net added on Thu, 23 Apr 2009

Strong arm and firm grip are two great essential of baseball. For you to make any headway in the game of baseball, you have got every reason to develop a strong arm and ever stop working on it. Many a times we feel we have done enough to build on our mechanics, but in reality that’s where most young lads miss it all. You are considered of little importance to other members of your team if you can’t throw well. Strong arms are a great asset in the game of baseball.

So we are going to cover a few areas on how we can work on our arm to have that powerful throw.

Your arm actions throw:
The power position of your arm during a throw determines how far and forceful your throw will be. Throwers must have enough concentration on breaking the hands apart and making that big sweep motion with their arm in other to stay really long with the arm going back or retuning to the power position again.

The act of staying on long:

As a base ball player when you eventually release the ball in a throw, you are expected to pay much attention in keeping the body on the line. If you can do this then you are gradually building on your level of concentration. When you are throwing you have to image a line from the pivot foot running straight to your set target. The stride is also expected to be in line as any variation along the line will lead to a decrease in level of accuracy. As you throw also take note not to let the throwing arm go pass behind the line.

The circle throwing:
The circle simple put is the area off the partner’s hat, left shoulder and the belt line buckle. If you are in a position to throw to a partner, you have to ensure a target of throwing down the circle. And never forget this; if you constantly throw down the circle then you are on you way to becoming a better thrower.

The power of long toss:
If you want to become a better baseball thrower, one thing you shouldn’t over look is long toss. As a matter of fact you should always practice long toss regularly because this is what that builds the arm. If you must have a strong arm then you should do more of long toss. There is no gain saying, that the longer toss you do the stronger your arms becomes. And of course if you have a strong arm you will eventually have a harder throw during games.

So, if you need those great and hard throws that will help you win more game for yourself and your entire team; then ensure you pay attention to the details above. As this will not only help make you a better player but will also impact positively on your overall game performance.
